For the first time, the researchers of NNP Co., with the cooperation of Gorgan University (Iran) could fabricate cellulose nanofiber board (CNF-board) with a nominal thickness of 3 mm without adhesive. This nano-board was made with mild drying condition in the vacuum oven at 005 MPa. The CNF-board showed self-densification capability and water-activated dimensional recovery (averagely 96%). The flexural and tensile strengths of CNF-board obtained were 162 MPa and 85 MPa, respectively. The specific flexural and tensile strengths of CNF-board obtained were higher than those of CF-board as well as some other traditional wood-based composites, polymers and structural ASTM A36 steel. The report of this research has been published in Carbohydrate Polymers no 187 (like below).
